Association: Russian farmers buy 56% fertilizers planned for 2022

MOSCOW, Apr 19 (PRIME) -- The Russian farmers have bought 2.7 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers as of mid-April, securing 56% of the amount that should be purchased for the entire 2022, the Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers said in a statement on Tuesday.

“As of mid-April 2022, the Russian agriculture industry raised its purchases of mineral fertilizers to 2.7 million tonnes (in equivalent to 100% of nutrient chemicals). This is a 5% increase as compared with the same period of the previous year. Thus, provision of farmers with mineral fertilizers amounts to 56% of forecasted demand for the year of 2022,” the statement read.

The association also said quoting Executive Director Maxim Kuznetsov that the prices for Russian farmers have been frozen at the level of the summer of 2021, which ensures stability and potential of the mineral fertilizer industry that emerged as a result of implementation of the sectorial investment programs since 2013.
